FL vacay

Sorry for the lack of blogging! We are in sunny Florida right now visiting Adam's side of the family!

PDizzle has had a great Christmas!

She was perfect on the flight here and has been sleeping pretty good in her pack-n-play! There's been a few times where she's woken up a little early, but we are on vacation, so naps are a little more frequent and that's okay with me!

Adam has been gone yesterday and today to help run an annual baseball camp that he's helped with for several years.  On Saturday Adam and some friends went paintballing while Presley and I went and hung out with a friend (her husband was paintballing with Adam) and they have a little boy who is about a 1.5 weeks older than Presley.  They were super cute!

We have more family on their way now so I better go get ready!

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a (late) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On our way to FL!

five months

PDizzle is 5 months old!

Why can't pregnancy go by fast and the growing up go by slow?

Weight:
We haven't weighed her, but I'd say about 16 pounds.  I'm apparently very bad at guessing her weight, so I could totally be off on that one!

Height:
Also not sure about this one!

Clothing Size:
Pretty much everything she wears is 6-9 months.  Pants need to be 9 months because her legs are a little long. Y'all.  Y'ALL! Is it possible that my child will have pretty long legs? Say it ain't so!

Diapers:
Size 3...too much booty in da pants..

Feeding:
We started solids a few weeks ago.  We haven't started doing it for specific "meals" yet, but we are going to very soon! So far we just sporadically give her a jar for lunch or dinner.  I plan on making her food, I just have to find a free day to do it! At night she is still eating about 8 oz of cereal, then when she wakes up she only takes about 4 ounces of formula. Throughout the day (usually every 3 hours) she takes about 6 ounces of formula!

Hair/Eyes:
Her hair is starting to get lighter. I don't think she will be blonde headed, but I do think it will be a lighter brown. Her eye brows are brown, if that's supposed to mean anything.  Her hair is also growing back in the back where it had rubbed off! Thank ya Jesus! Her eyes are green fo sho!

Sleep:
Fan-freakin-tastic! I started to only swaddle one arm, so whenever she wakes up she will just suck her thumb right back to sleep.  I'm not even sure if she wakes up anymore, but if she does then she doesn't make any noises.  The only problem we have is that she scoots around the bed and gets herself smooshed up in the corner. She usually sleeps between 11-12 hours at night.  HOLLA!  If I'm being honest, I like my child a tiny bit more when she sleeps like that.  Truth.  She takes about a 30 minute nap in the morning, then about 2 hour nap in the afternoon!

Favorites:
-She is now out of her baby bath tub and sitting up in her little bath chair whatcha-ma-call-it. We fill the bath way up so she can splash around!

-She also still loves her jumpy and will bounce her little heart out until she falls asleep.

-Still loving Mickey Mouse.

-LOVES to look at herself in the mirror. Umm..conceited?!

-She is slightly obsessed with chewing on her hands.

Fun Stuff:
She is on her way to sitting up by herself! Just a few more days of practicing and I'm sure she will be a pro. She loves playing with the toys that are attached to her jumpy and has very good coordination with her hands.  Everything she touches goes straight to her mouth...lovely! She loves to stand up and be talked to.  Whenever I'm holding her and someone talks to her, she gets shy and buries her head into my shoulder.  This leads me to believe that she's not actually my child because I know it's impossible for me to bear a shy child.  We shall work on this.

Little P, you're growing so fast! Make it stop little girl!

P-Nasty's first Christmas!

It's safe to say that this is my favorite time of year! October, November, and December are my favorite months because October has the nicest weather, November has lots of food, and December is Christmas time!

HOLLA!

I pretty much burn Fall scented candles year round and if I could leave my Christmas tree up all year long then I would.  Except we get a real tree and I'm sure that come June, it'd look pretty ugly.

Everyone assumes that the second you have a baby that the holidays are like 143 times better than in the past.

That, my friends, is a lie!

For example:
Halloween this year, Presley was 3 months old.  We took her trick-or-treating with the cousins and friends, you know, the usual.  Guess who came home empty handed with not one....I repeat....NOT ONE cotton pickin' Reese's Cup or Mini Snickers for me to enjoy.  How rude!

Thanksgiving this year, Presley was 4 months old.  Which means she was no longer living in my stomach which meant that I had no excuse to get 6 helpings of turkey and mashed taters.  Last year I could do that because I was preggo.  This year I was just a fatty-tard.

So far Christmas has been going good.  The only ridiculous thing is the amount of Christmas outfits P has.  More specifically, Mud Pie outfits.  Can you get stock in Mud Pie? I totally should.

We are being the meanest parents on the block and have chosen to not let our kids believe in Santa.  It's just a personal choice that Adam and I made before we even had Presley and feel that we are making the right decision for our family!  We are going to tell our kids about Santa, but that he's just a fun make-believe part of Christmas.  This year, thankfully, we don't have to worry about it though since she will be so young.

Honestly, Adam and I aren't even getting her anything! I mean, she's 5 months old.

All she cares about is if she can fit her whole fist in her mouth and how high of a pitch she can scream at.

This year we will be in Florida for Christmas! Adam will be driving down next weekend, then Presley and I are flying down on the 23rd.  We got a straight flight out of Birmingham but I still get anxiety about the 1.5 hour plane ride!

Anyone have any Xanax tips on flying with a baby?!

thankful for Toasty

Since Presley has been here, we have been so fortunate to have family around to help us take care of her. My Mom came over almost every day in the beginning and would sit with the babe while I went and took a 3 hour nap.  My Mimi came over on days that my Mom didn't and would keep her while I ran errands (walked around Target) or just needed a nap.  They were such lifesavers and I honestly don't know how people do it without family! But, during those times Adam was also so much help.  Whether it was helping clean the house, grocery shopping, cooking (Lord knows I didn't cook before the baby, much less when I was sleep deprived and a walking zombie!).  He never once complained about getting up to feed her even though he had class that day.  I got really lucky in the ol' ball & chain department! Granted, he does things totally different than I do, I am still very grateful that I have the extra helping hands :)

So, my advice to any expecting or preggo Mom would be to make sure you don't become too controlling over your new baby.

There are times when I wonder what goes through Adams head when he's taking care of her, but instead of being all psycho and "you did it wrong!!!!!!" I just choose to be grateful that he is helping out at all.

If he doesn't hold her the right way while feeding her, who cares?
She's not crying and she's still eating.

If he makes her bath temperature a little colder than I make it, she's still going to be just as clean.

If he puts her in super ugly clothes that don't match?! She is still clothed and isn't really trying to impress anyone!

On the nights when Adam has baby duty (which isn't much anymore since she sleeps through the night) he doesn't like to swaddle her.  She doesn't really sleep as long when she's not swaddled, but he's the one that will be up taking care of her.  Ain't no thang to this mama...I'm getting my beauty sleep!

While most of the time I am a pretty relaxed Mom, there are times when I do voice my opinion and say stuff like,"I promise if you do _________ she won't be so fussy!"

But I don't go all ape $#!* on him and cause an argument.

Some Moms think that it's just easier if they do all of the care taking for the baby.  But if the men don't ever have the chance to practice then they'll never learn.  I feel like my motherly instinct kicked in from the get go, but Adams instinct has come just by being very hands on.

So, Moms...don't be a psycho about your child! I've never heard of a child being in harm because they're wearing an outfit that they grew out of months ago but the Dad put it on them anyways!

Ok, that's my little tidbit for the day!

I really really really really REALLY am going to start blogging more.  Presley is no longer boring and is a real human these days so I actually have things to blog about.

Y'all, she's on her way to sitting up by herself!

HOLLLLLA!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I have so much to be thankful for! I am so incredibly blessed to have a husband who loves me through the good times and the bad. And let's be honest, he's had to put up with more bad in the past few months than he has good (holy hormones!!!).  He's loved me when I have been unlovable and has taken care of Presley when I wasn't able to (holy kidney stones!!). He treats me like the princess I am a queen and you can see it in his eyes that the love he has for me is out of this world. You should totally be jealous that he's off the market forever!

But for a hefty price of $50,000,00-......wait..just kidding. He's not for sale :)

And then there's the adorable, chubby, and giggly little babytard! She has given Adam and I so much joy since she's been a part of our family and we have such a fun time watching her grow! She has taken center stage of our heart and soul :)

Now if we could just get her to stop spitting up all over me 24/7 and start doing her own laundry I'd never complain again....

We are so thankful for our entire family. They've all been so helpful and supportive this year, it truly means the world to us...we love you all!

One thing that Adam and I are very grateful of this year is our church.  We've struggled in the past to find a "home" in a church and we feel like we have found "the one".  Even if it is held in a movie theatre, Safe Haven Church is definitely our "church home" and the people we've met and grown close to are blessings in itself.  We love our small group every Tuesday! And the series that we've been studying has seriously helped mine and Adams relationship in ways I never knew it could! I could go on and on and on, but if you live in T-Town you should totally come!

Anywhoozle...so much to give thanks to! I could go on for days but the kid and Toasty are both asleep so I'm going out on the town to hit the sack!

Holllllllla!

November 18, 2011

four months

Weight:
15 pounds 12 ounces (75 %).
Honestly, we all thought she weighed more than that.  All of our round about guesses were 18 pounds.  I'm going to go out on a limb and say homegirl is packin' 6 pounds in her cheeks alone.

Height:
25 1/4 inches (90%)
Can we all gather 'round, hold hands, and pray together that she's going to be long and lean?! That'd be great.  I knew she'd gotten taller because she's outgrown pretty much all of her sleepers.

Clothing Size:
Shirts/onesies she's in 3-6 months.  If we put her in 3-6 month size pants they're usually a little short, depending on the brand.  Her sleepers are size 6-9 months and some of them are just plain ol' 9 months.

**Side note: does anyone know of a certain brand of socks that will sat on homegirls feet?? Drives me crazy that they won't stay on, unless I put two pairs on....clearly I'm out of the loop in the sock department.**

Diapers:
Size 2 in Pampers, but if we are using Huggies she could probably wear a 3.  The Huggies are a little tight on her fat thighs. That's sad.

Feeding:
Holy guacamole, this girl doesn't miss a meal.  She is eating 6 ounces every 3 hours during the day (unless she is napping, then she will sometimes go longer).  Before bed she will eat about 6-7 ounces of cereal out of a cereal feeder.  We've been making it pretty thick and she does great with that..no tummy aches or anything! As you can see in the pictures below...she loves eating off a spoon...

Hair/Eyes:
Her hair is light brown and her eyes are finally green! Thems is so purtty, too! My eyes are just regular ol' doo doo green, but Adams are more of an emerald green.  While we are praying for height let's also pray for less doo doo and more emerald.  KthanksBye!

Sleep:
Good enough.  For about a week she was sleeping all night long without waking up at all.  Then all of a sudden she would wake up around 4 or 5 AM and want to be un-swaddled or fed.  I'm not sure if it was a growth spurt or what, but I'm hoping we are on the road to recovery and back to sleeping all night.  She really doesn't want to be swaddled any more but I'm too big of a pansy to not swaddle her and see how that goes.  Right now she goes to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 and will sleep until 7:00. If she wakes up and wants un-swaddled she goes right back to sleep.

Favorites:
Like always, bath time.  Except now she doesn't scream her balls off when she get's out.  It's glorious. We let her sit in the bath for as long as possible.  If I have to refill her water 32 times to keep her happy, then I will do it.

She also likes her Jumparoo thingy-ma-jig.  She has almost mastered the jumping part but mostly just swings back and forth.  We have a Jenny Jump Up but we use that for more of a swing.  Adam and I just push her back and forth..

It's totally safe.  I think.

Fun Stuff:
Pdizz had her first outing to the Quad during the Bama vs LSU football game.  She wore her cheerleading outfit and looked sooo cute!  We didn't stay too long because it was super crowded and I just wanted to be home.

Presley also got to meet her Uncle Ricky for the first time! Him and my aunt Rah Rah live in Germany (he's in the Air Force) but he was home for a few days before being deployed soon! Rah Rah will be here in 18 days so then it'll be her turn to snuggle the little meatball!

That's about all for now! I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of little details.

Picture time!!

 **crappy iPhone pictures...sorry!**

Anna Lisa and the cutest little smileytard I know!

I had to work on this day, I so badly wanted to snuggle up to these two sleeping beauties!

Chubby cheeks!

Is it too early to put hot sauce on her thumb??

 Just for fun..but that's me on the left (although I am 7 months in that pic) and Presley on the right...sorry Adam, maybe the next one will look like you :)

Psycho: Party of 1...

That "party of 1" would be ME right about now!

Ya'll, my hair's falling out, I'm emotional, I'm tired, and I'm a fatty.

NO I'M NOT KNOCKED UP!

What a mean joke that'd be! I mean, can't I heal from the first meat ball before we start brewing up #2?! Thanks!

Although, if you would have asked me last week if I thought I was preggo or not..I wouldn't have been too sure. But thanks to a $20 pee stick it's been confirmed that I'm not.

aaaannnnnnnddddd....exhale.

Not that I was worried.  But considering I ate Chili Cheese Tater Tots from Sonic at 9 AM and hysterically cried to The Little Drummer Boy song all in one day...my brain started wondering off to those crazy little quarters and suddenly I'm planning another nursery in my mind and totally freaking my freak.

I mean,seriously, the Little Drummer Boy just wanted to play his cotton pickin' drum! For Mary! And the sweet baby Jesus! And pretty little Virgin Mary loved it!!!!

**frownsmile**

Have mercy, I'm crazy.  Let's pretend none of this happened.  Mmkay?

____________________________________________

I've been very busy at work.  I did go to the doctor where he told me I have carpal tunnel in both wrists. Which I already knew, but I needed to pay someone $60 to make me feel like I wasn't a hypochondriac. He told me to wear some splints at night, but clearly I wasn't about to do that.  I then went and got acupuncture done.  It was super weird and definitely not relaxing. The needles didn't hurt when they were put in, but it did ache a little once they were in.  Not sure if I'm going to continue to get it done. At 50 bones per session I can see where that'll get expensive. One thing I will be starting next week is some training to learn a type of massage called Ashiatsu.  Or rather...the type of massage where I hold onto bars and walk on my clients back....

I will be trained by a Chinese guy named Houliang who has been doing Ashiatsu for 20 years.  He learned in China which means he knows his stuff.  I had one of these massages done and it was by far, the deepest pressure I've ever had done.  I seriously thought he was going to break one of my bones, but it felt so good! This will help my wrists since I won't be using my hands at all. Score!

Monday Pdizzle has her 4 month check up.  She will also be getting a shot or two...wahhhh! Just a Dtap and Rotavirus. She hasn't had any problems with shots before so I'm not too concerned about it.  I talked to her pediatrician a week or so ago and mentioned that we are too poor to keep buying soy-based formula every week we'd like to try regular formula to see if she's still lactose intolerant, and she said that they usually suggest trying that around 4 months.  Part of me is super nervous because if she still is allergic to the milk then that means hours and hours and hours of crying and straight up diarrhea.

For her.  Not me.

Although I will probably be crying too.....

....just not diarrhea-ing all in my diaper.

She's doing great at school.  I think she just sleeps all day and then does a little people-watching baby-watching.  She loves to look at people.  More specifically, herself.  Give the kid a mirror and she's all smiley and giggly...ummm, can we say conceited???? RUDE!

I was going to take her to get her ears pierced today but Adam made me feel like a bad MamaTard and told me it was like taking his baby to have surgery.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he was being a bit dramatic.  But then I thought about it keeping her up at night and if you've even got half of a brain cell you know that you don't mess with a babes sleeping schedule.

So we wait. She's jewelry free for now.

In other news, I've been contacted by two different companies about doing a review for their product.  One of them will be a giveaway so all of you little secret stalkers better come out of the rock you've been hiding under. It's okay, I'm a stalker, I won't think any differently of you.

Unless you're a creepy old man named Frank with a mullet and 3 teeth.  Then I'll definitely think differently of you.

Alright, well this post has turned into complete rambling so I'll be scooting' off to bed.

Holla back young in'.

November 3, 2011

lessons learned

In the 3.5 months that I've been a Mom I have definitely learned several lessons! All, of course, learned the hard way & never the easy way.

Why would parenting be easy anyways? Pshhh!

Any being the gracious person I am, I have decided to go ahead and warn you of these lessons so when you have a new baby yourself, you can just bypass these and pretend that you're really really smart!

Because I'm awesome like that.

You're welcome.

Ahem.

Lesson #1- When you're still in the hospital after pushing your little meatball out, sending the baby to the nursery doesn't guarantee that you'll be getting "a good nights rest before going home with the babe".  No no no NO! You'll have people coming in every hour or so checking your blood pressure and taking your temperature, room service coming in to Swiffer the floors at 4 am, and the cafeteria calling you at 6 am SHARP to remind you to order your breakfast.  Which, by the way, will be nice and cold by the time they actually make it to your room.  The best part of it all though is when the nurse comes in every few hours to push on your stomach and check your pad...if you know what I'm sayin'.

Lesson #2- If you breastfeed then you know how badly it hurts in the beginning.  I can't tell you how many nurses and lactation consultants told me that "if it hurts you're doing it wrong".  I mean, there's only SO many ways to put a boob in your childs mouth and feed it.

It hurts. Just trust me.

Or maybe you shouldn't trust me because I breastfed for a total of 43 seconds and decided I was over it.

Lesson #3- Don't be too paranoid about everything.  I try really hard to not hover over Presley and worry about everything.  Granted, she's not mobile yet so I may eat my words later.  But at this point in her life I try not to worry about everything.  If she stays up later than usual one night, no big deal. She'll sleep when she's ready.  If she's crying because she is hungry or wants her diaper changed, I don't drop every single thing I am doing and run to her rescue.  If I'm doing the dishes or folding laundry I will finish that and then take care of her. That one sounds cruel, but honestly when's the last time you heard about a baby starving to death or something happening to a baby for having a wet diaper on for 5 minutes too long?  Exactly.

Lesson #4- Never Google for parenting advice! EVER! Because that will bring up Yahoo! Answers and you all KNOW how that ends up.  Every mother thinks they know ev-ery-thing about everything when it comes to parenting.  If you want to try something with your baby that others say you shouldn't do...do what you want.  I decided (before going to the pedi and her telling me it was okay) to give P-Nasty rice cereal at only a few weeks old.  My Mom gave me and my brothers cereal at about 2 weeks old....

....and look how awesomely perfect and smart I turned out!!!!!!!!!!!

**crickets chirping**

Anywhoozle.  Do what you think is best for your little nugget and don't worry about what other people have to say.

Lesson #5- If you want your baby to sleep through the night then read the Happiest Baby on the Block.  I borrowed this book from a friend and the second I followed the 5 S's (swaddling, sucking, sush'ing, side/stomach lying, and swing) that's when P started sleeping all night.  And my definition of "all night" was not unrealistic..we're talking a 6-7 hour stretch.

Lesson #6- If your child likes bath time, keep them in there until they start to get fussy and want out.  We start our night time routine around 7:00 and she is usually very fussy until she is asleep, it's not a glorious time in our house once she's ready for bed.  But, we get a good 20-30 minutes to pass by putting P in the bath every night.  She loves a bath and I will refill her bath water as many times as it takes as long as she's still splashing around and enjoying it.  Because once she's out...you better be on your A game and have the cereal bottle ready with her lullaby music on..because she will scream a bloody murder scream that I'm sure can bust an eardrum.

Lesson #7- Staring at your child will not make them go to sleep any faster.  I swear, sometimes I feel like Presley and I have the worlds longest staring contest at night time.  I just think the harder I stare at her, the sooner she will shut her eyes and go to sleep.  Because by that point at night I just want her to GO. TO. SLEEP!

The staring doesn't work, y'all.  It just dries out your contacts.

And that boys and girls, is all I have for now.  I'm sure in a few more months I'll have more brilliant advice to give...I know you're thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm off to do laundry. Kill me now.

Oh by the way..want to know what's more annoying than folding adult socks??

FOLDING BABY SOCKS!! So tiny and impossible to match and ball up.

;fghfdghfdijgoasirjtad;'slkf'd;slkf.

This is how we clean house together!

Pdizzle wore her Halloween costume to school!

Boots with the furrrrrr......

And here's a little video of our little babytard!

October 26, 2011

workin' woman!

Ok, so I promise I am done being a total lame-o and I will start posting more! I've been pretty busy at work so I am usually exhausted when I get home. I only work 9-3, but when you have a child you never stop working. I leave at 3 and go pick her up from daycare, come home and try to pick the house up before Adam gets home.

Ok. That was a lie.

I come home, take my shoes off, put Presleytard in her swing and I plop down in the recliner.

What about dinner, you ask?

Um, hello.  It's called Ramen and it only takes 3 minutes to cook.

Cooking real food requires me to go to the grocery store.  Going to the grocery store requires me to remove my fat @$$ from the recliner.  Removing my fat @$$ from the recliner requires me to actually open my eyelids and move my limbs.

All of which I am not a fan of.  So we eat poor people food.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Presley is still doing great at daycare.  I had to tell my Mom to not let her sleep so much because she wasn't sleeping all night.  Ever since I told them that though she's been sleeping all night! Last night was a milestone in the Pav house...PDizzle slept in her room all by herself!
Yes sir-ee-bob Adam and I actually slept in the same bed together for the first time in for-ev-errr!
I figured that I would wake up every hour and get up to check on her, but when I fell asleep at 11:00 I never woke up until 6:00! Let's hope that she keeps sleeping all night so Mama can also get some good sleep!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This past Sunday Adam and I went to a new church and loved it! Well, I don't think the church itself is new, but it's the first time we visited.  We loved it and are already looking forward to next Sunday! (For you locals, it was Safe Haven Church located in the Cobb 16).  It seems kind of odd, but the church is held in the big movie theater here, but we love it because the seats are super comfy! Presley did great with the child care and it turns out that I know several people who also go there! We attended the couples small group last night and had a great time. We ate food, they had a baby sitter there, and we discussed Sundays sermon! If you live in T-Town and are looking for a fun church to attend you should really come! It's mainly younger couples who also have children, and the Pastor is also really great! He really just tells it like it is, preaches straight from the Bible, and that's what Adam and I have been looking for.

After small group last night, we I put Presley down for bed while Adam got a wild hair and went to Wal Mart to buy a new flat screen TV.

He apparently needed a new tv to play his new xBox game on.  I don't really know.

If you are the wife of a proclaimed Penny Pincher then know this: never ask questions of why your Penny Pinching husband is going to buy a nice, new, flat screen.  Just encourage and confirm that, indeed, the new Battlefield 3 will look much much better on that nice new TV.

Mmkay?

You're welcome.

On top of the new TV we are also trying to spruce up the ol' apartment.  I just bought a new rug which I was extremely too excited about. Definitely made me realize just what my life has come to, but that's ok! And and AND I also found out today that we can paint our walls! Lowe's doesn't even KNOW what's about to hit them!

I'm going through a turquoise phase, which is very unfortunate for Adam because I'm not sure how he actually feels about it.  On second thought, he's a man...will he actually even notice enough to care?

Probably not...so I'm going to go a little overboard I think.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, that's about it for now! I'm off to go feed that youngin' of mine!
I will leave you with some a crap ton pictures of the little lady in a few of her Halloween outfits!
How fat does PDizz look in this picture? Hubba hubba! That's baby Turner and he only weighs 5 pounds! That's a preemie outfit he has on and it is almost too big!
October 22, 2011
where are my ear plugs??
I just thought I drop in to say that I totally intended on posting today...but I currently have a child who will not stop screaming at the top of her lungs, making it hard to concentrate on anything!
She's fed. She's got a clean diaper. She's had gripe water AND tylenol. And she's tired.
At what point do you think she'll realize that her eyes are already closed and if she just shuts the BLEEP up she will fall right to sleep??
Well, I'm off to go be a bad parent now because I'm going to continue to clean house.
Judge away!
But before you judge..can you bring me a Xanax?
October 16, 2011
three months
Yesterday our little Bunny turned 3 months old! People! I mean, 3 months is half way to 6 months...and 6 months is half way to ONE YEAR!
I'm nothing if not dramatic.  Sometimes.
We did go to the doctor last week to get two other shots from her 2 month shots.  They've really made her grouchy and irritable because she has been sleeping through the night for about a week & a half.  Then she got those shots and has been waking up every night.
Guess who was less than thrilled about that????
ME! DUH!
Today is the 4th day (they say the 3rd day after should be the worst, and yesterday was day 3) so hopefully tonight we will be back on track.
**I know her onesie looks like a different color, but the picture on the right was taken with the flash on, and it changed the color...FAIL!**
Weight:
They didn't weigh her at the doctor on Wednesday, but I can guarentee you that she's at least 14..maybe 15 pounds. Hubba Hubba!
Height:
Also, not sure about that one either.  I can tell she's gotten longer because her feet are getting squished in her sleepers! Let's all pause and say a prayer that she inherited Adams height and not mine. Not that I have any height or anything.  I'm pushing 5' 3"...on a good day.
Clothing Size:
Depending on the brand it varies.  For instance, whoever designed baby clothes for Target clearly had a morbidly obese baby because they run very big.  I think she can still fit into some newborn clothes from there.  But mainly 0-3 months from Target.  She can wear a few things that are 3-6 months too!
Diapers:
Still in size 1 diapers.  I'm going to go out on a limb and say that she could manage wearing a size 2 in Huggies but the size 1 in Pampers fit perfectly.
Also, does anyone else's kid have super potent pee? Or maybe I just have a good sniffer.
Feeding:
She's still eating 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours.  At night I give her a 5 ounce bottle and add two scoops of rice cereal in and that keeps her full a little longer than normal.  I started out using Gerber cereal but found that the grains were too big and thick.  Beechnut's cereal is more like a powder so it's easier on her tummy!  She is still a pretty slow eater though so she obviously takes after her Dad in that department because I eat soo ridiculously fast. It's absurd!
Hair/Eyes:
Her hair has lightened up, and has also started falling out in the back.  I shed a tear (a very small one, mind you) the other day when I looked in her bed and saw her little hairs that have rubbed off. She still has a good bit left though so I'm not too concerned.  Her eyes are still blue, I think.  Honestly, I haven't even looked lately.
Sleep:
HA.  Well it was going fan-freakin-tastic.  Then she got shots & possibly hit a growth spurt and things have been downhill ever since! Or maybe she's teething? I'm not the best at diagnosing these things because I'm a wee bit of a hypochondriac.  But just a little.
Favorites:
Bath time is still a great way to calm her down! She also loves to go outside.  Sometimes when she's freaking the freak out I will just open up the door and walk her around outside. Maybe we should invest in some patio furniture.
Or not.
Because I married a tight wad.
Not really...but seriously.
She loves her changing table and will smile and talk to you then entire time she's up there! She still hates to be held, but loves her Moby wrap.  She also told me that she loves to go to Tokyo.  She said that Adam needs to take us there for dinner one night soon.
Hey, it was her idea, not mine!
Welp, that's all!
She's a growing little butter bean who we love tremendously! I don't want to say that we "don't remember life without her" (why do people say that anyways? I vividly remember more sleep and less Fisher Price items taking over our house!) but she has definitely given Adam and I a new meaning of life and love and we would never want to go back to just being the two of us! She fills my heart with joy and there is for sure, no love like a Mother's love :)
in the funk
guess who sucks at blogging?
THIS GIRL!!!
Yeah, about that.
Once you get into a blogging funk, it's a hard hole to climb out of!
**SWEET NIBBLETS...let me go feed my little babytard..**
Ok...geeeeze, she's so needy sometimes :)
Last Tuesday I went back to work! Hence, the lack of bloggage.  I was super busy all week getting my massage on and can I just tell you how sore my hands, arms, and back were? I think we are in the middle of hiring another massage therapist, so that should help out a lot!
While I was working my Mimi kept the bambino which helped out tremendously! Not that P is hard to take care of or anything.  I mean, she sleeps for the majority of the day and never cries.  But it was nice of her to watch her while I was gone!  Wednesday will be Presley's first day of pre-school! I have her bag packed, everything labeled, and I'm squeezing & kissing her as much as possible before she enters the germ infested world of pre school! It's bound to happen, she will be sick within a matter of days, I am already prepared!
One person who I know is excited about P starting school is my Mom! She will be her "teacher" and gets to spend all day with her! You don't even know how thankful I am that P is in my Mom's class! I have no intentions of crying or being a complete wreck when I drop her off which is a big relief!
oh oh OHHHHHHH and guess who has been sleeping through the night?
THIS GIRL!
BOOM!
Yes-sir-ee Bob!
It's taken a combination of things that (I think) have done the trick! The main one being that we try to keep her awake more starting around 5 or 6 in the afternoon.  Now, don't let me fool you, she's a raging beast during these hours because she'd much rather be sleeping.  But, I would take a few fussy hours for a whole nights sleep! Our first step to our nightly routine is bath time.  Homefry loves the bath so we usually keep her in there for a while just to pass the time.  Then, she gets her jammies on and I feed her a 5 or 6 ounce bottle with rice cereal in it.  After that she burps and I let her food settle for a few more minutes...then it's swaddle time!!!
She hates the swaddling process.  Loves being swaddled though.
I'm officially the swaddling queen and I have created a concoction of ways to keep her from breaking out of said swaddle...the only thing lacking in this process is the duct tape.  We haven't had to go the route....yet.
I'M KIDDING!
Don't call the Mommy Police.
Or do.  I could use some company around here.
After I mummify the babe we then turn on the little box fan and her lullaby music, then I rock her to sleep.  I know I know I know, some people don't think you should rock the kid to sleep because once you start, you can't stop.  But, this is the only time P will let me really hold and cuddle her, so I don't care if I am rocking her until she is 43 years old! (Have I mentioned before that PDizz hates to be held? Well, she does.  I don't know how that happened but she would much rather be in her swing, bed, or bouncy seat than in someones arms).
Then she sleeps! Depending on how early we put her to bed she usually gets anywhere between 7-9 straight hours. Boom shaka laka!
I am also hoping that once she starts day care she will be more tired at night and we can put her to bed earlier without the 2 hours of pure Hell fussiness.
In other news, Adam is still very busy with school and baseball.  I think Fall practice ends in a few weeks and I think that's when we will try to go somewhere for our anniversary.
OH YEAH...yesterday was our 1 year anny! We didn't really do anything major..just snuggled with our babe in the morning and then that night Adam and I went to a movie and dinner while my Mom kept Pres! I'm a pretty cheap date :)
Hmmmm what else?
Well, on Wednesday Presley has to get the rest of her 2 month old shots.  Since we are doing the delayed vaccines she will pretty much have a shot every month or so. Then this weekend we are getting her ears pierced..that should be a bitchin' time! But, I would rather do it now rather than when she's older.  Go ahead, judge away!
That's all for now! I've got Gumbo cookin' away on the stove and it's time to wake P up so she can have a scream fest!
JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few pictures from our PhotoBooth session today...Presley was super excited as you can tell.
