BREAKING NEWS!!!!

Adam & I are engaged!!!!!

Most of you probably already know this by now though :)

Needless to say, I am still in shock! Granted, I did know there was a ring, the way that Adam proposed was a total surprise! Here's how it all went down......(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

About a month ago Adam and I went to look at rings in Sarasota and Venice. After a week or so we found a ring that I l-o-v-e-d! We already had a diamond to use. My Grandmother, Jane, gave me a 1 ct round diamond ring for high school graduation. It was her engagement ring from my Grandfather, Tom, who died when I was younger ( I loooooved him so much). So, we found a setting that looked great with my diamond and I told Adam that I wanted to stop looking because I wanted that one.

After that, I was just so totally for sure that Adam was going to ask me to marry him before I left Florida. I was there for a month so of course I was on pins & needles the entire time. It got really bad because we would be going somewhere stupid and I would feel like I needed to get dressed up because "OH MY GOSH what if he's going to propose:?!?!" Ladies..do you hear me???? :)

But, that never happened! My Mom flew down to FL on Friday after Thanksgiving because we were leaving Saturday morning. Friday night we had dinner plans at our favorite restaurant, with Adams mom, dad, and sister. Sounds like the perfect time to propose right?!?!? Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Uhhhh not quite. So by this point I am getting pretty ticked off. I was about to go bat sh*t crazy on someone..anyone..but that also never happened. Thank goodness.

So we go home and get ready for bed..I am totally not talking to Adam at this point and I really didn't plan on it. The next morning he got up early to go to a "baseball scrimmage" at IMG. I didn't even tell him bye..I just said "LEAVVVVVVVVVE!!!!" I know, I can be so charming and sweet sometimes...

He leaves, then my mom and I load up my car and leave about 35 minutes later. What would normally take us 10 hours to drive home took us 13 hours thanks to game day traffic in Gainesville, FL and Atlanta, GA. Perfect. Oh, I should probably add, the whole 13 hour drive home, I didn't call Adam, and I had already told myself that I was not going to answer his phone calls. I know, I'm so mature. He ended up not calling me either, so I told my mom that he was probably just scared to call and hear what I had to say. I don't blame him. Ok anywho, we get home and we all (my mom and step dad) start unloading my car. I am carrying about 300 bags and I walk back to my room, open up my door, and Lord have mercy

Adam is in my freaking room!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are roses and rose petals everywhere, a billion candles shaped into a big heart, and he is kneeling down on one knee!!! Holy cow..I am dead. It's pretty much all a blur from there, which I feel is what normally happens. When he started talking to me and telling me that "He knows he wants to spend his life with me" and all of that mushy stuff all I could do was scream (mixed in with a few tears) "I WAS SO MAD AT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

About 10 minutes later Adam said,"Soooo..did you say 'yes'??"

DUH!!!!!!!!!!

I had a lot of phone calls to make after that and I think I might have slept for 2 hours. He woke up the next morning to drive back to FL :(

I am still in shock and don't even know where to begin the planning! It seemed way more fun planning it in my head before we were engaged.

Alrighty..there ya go! I will leave you with some pictures of the ring!! You might want to put on some sunglasses because it's bling blingin'!!!!!

What Am I Thankful For?

Since it's Thanksgiving, I figured I would jump on the bandwagon and write what I am thankful for. Of course I can't list everything I am thankful for, because that would take days, and let's get real...we've got food to eat people (which just so happens to be something I am thankful for. The food. Not the people. Well, I am thankful for the people too...but I digress.)

These are in no particular order..thanks to Blogger it's a pain in the arse to organize these!

I am thankful for my beautimous friends back home! Being away for baseball I don't have many, but the ones I do have I love to pieces!

I am thankful for an adorable niece who just so happens to be the sassiest little girl ev-ah! I can't wait to get back home and see her more often! I love her!

I am thankful to have a nephew who doesn't care that his Aunt is crazy sometimes all of the time. I love him more than anyone else in the world. Yes..even more than I love you. Aw snap! Sorry!

I am thankful for all of these good lookin' guys! My Dad especially..seriously. I have the best. Dad. Ever.

I am thankful for my Mom who I can't wait to see tomorrow! She is my BFF and I tell her everything!

I am thankful for..uhh..who put this picture on here? Ok well, I am thankful for Edward Cullen. That's it. Because he's just too good lookin' for words. And if you don't know who Robert Pattinson/Edward Cullen is then...well, frankly, we can't be friends. Seriously. Leave my blog and go straight to Google.

Aw snap. I am very thankful for the Sting Stings. I don't think I have any other words for this other than go here now .

I am thankful for Toasty. I am very thankful that he let's me tag a long with him wherever he goes. We have such a great time together and I can't wait to see what the future holds!

I am thankful for all of my baseball girls. They seriously are what make the baseball season so much fun. I couldn't ask for a better group of girls to be my friends. Really, you should be jealous.

I am thankful for having a God who knows the depths of my heart, and loves me the same. I am thankful that he forgives me when I am at my worst.

I am thankful for all of my Grandparents who are the bomb diggity. They are all so special to me and I love them with all of my heart!

I am thankful for my Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Step Father, Adams family, and so many other people (dang, I feel like I am giving my award speech for the Oscars or something!!).

And lastly, I am thankful for Alabama football. I am thankful that they are going to whoop Auburn this weekend and Tim Teabag Florida on December 5th.

Ok, it doesn't get any more redneck than that peeps..I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!

Anyone still out there??

Oh dear, I know I totally deserve the award for worst. blogger. ever. But please forgive me!

I have a totally legit reason that you haven't heard from me. We have been doing absolutely nothing! Just doing the same ol' same ol'! Adam works out every day, then goes to the batting cages. Then we eat dinner, go to bed, and do the same thing the next day. I know, you're totally jealous of all the awesome-ness in our life (insert sarcasm here).

Adam has been talking occasionally to his agent about winter ball. He said that there might be a team in Venezuela that's interested but we won't know any more for a few more days. The winter ball teams usually give the run around. They'll say, "Okay, we will talk in a few days when we know more." Then a few days pass and they say, "Okay well just give us a few more days to talk about blah blah blah." So, it could be a while! He hasn't really talked to his agent about the free agency yet. It will probably be a while before they get started on that. I wish they'd hurry up though, I would like to know where we could possibly be next year! I am trying to be patient..but it's hard :)

Good news though..Uncle Dave is coming home from the hospital! Thank you God! He's been up in Tampa at the Moffitt Cancer Center where he was supposed to stay for a month while he was getting chemo, but they are setting him freeeeeeee! He's been handling all of the medicine so well that he can just go to a doctor near by! Thank you for all of your prayers! We are excited about him being back home, and he is more than excited!!

Yesterday I went to Venice for the day while Adam did his thang. Adams Mom was preparing for Thanksgiving, so I helped a little bit! Don't worry, I only sprinkled cheese and stirred the bread batter. I think if Adam knew I helped with the actual meal, he might not eat it, so his Mom did that part! It was fun! We stayed for dinner then headed back home!

Whelp, I hope everyone has a stupendous Thanksgiving!

Beach Rules & Behavior

I have no words for some most of these pictures..which leads me to this..

Beach Rules & Behavior: Acceptable vs Unacceptable.

You're Welcome and enjoy.

Acceptable: Looking ridiculously attractive while scoping out where to set up shop on Lido Key.

Unacceptable: Setting up shop next to old man in the shiny gold Speedo. This picture is just wrong on so many levels. Thankfully, he put his clothes on and left.

Acceptable: Burying your child in the sand. Everyone does it, no big deal.

Unacceptable: Allowing said child to become un-buried (if that's even a word) and become the most insane ADHD human being I've ever been around. Seriously, he made his Mom play "catch" with an empty Powerade bottle for 30 minutes. The goal was for her to throw it so high in the air that he had to jump and dive to catch it which failed every time. That led to him kicking up sand all over Adam and I...oh-my-gosh..talk about annoying!

This picture is both acceptable & unacceptable.
Acceptable: Owning a friggin' sweet mansion on the bay
Unacceptable: Not inviting me over

Acceptable: Having the perfect little "get up" on Lido Key

Unacceptable: Taking a picture of your girlfriend stuffing her face with a sandwich

Acceptable: Wearing a John Deere hat that doesn't match anything you own but you pull it off anyway...

Unacceptable: Wearing cut off jeans..with no shirt on..and a potential mullet if you don't visit the barber shop soon..

This one takes the cake though...

TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE: Borrowing your 18 year old grand-daughters 2 piece bathing suit that clearly doesn't fit... matched with a backwards baseball cap. Seriously, no words for this picture..so wrong, so wrong.

Even this fella didn't want to look at that.

Lesson learned...maybe get a 2nd opinion on your beach attire before leaving the house..please..do us all a favor..

**there is also another new post under this one..so scroll down and read on!**

Recent Updates

It seems like everyday I have these little thoughts pop up in my head about something I need to blog about, and then I never do. These little thoughts pop up during the most random of times...like, when I am brushing my teeth I think,'Oh snap, I need to definitely blog about "blah blah blah (whatever I was thinking)". Or take today, for instance, when I just so happen to be waxing my arms (true story...but let's not talk about that), I was like,"Ooooh, I realllllllly need to blog about that thing, whatever it was that happened last week...". Then, when it comes time to it's like BAM...total brain fart (you can try Google-ing that..but I am pretty sure it just means something along the lines of drawing a blank). So, short story is that I had all of these brilliant things to blog about, but now I don't. It doesn't mean that our life has gotten so incredibly interesting that these type of things just slip my mind, it just means that I have an incredibly horrible memory. I will try to work on that for ya. In the mean time, I will try to come up with as many recent updates as possible :o)

-I recently fixed the "w" button on my computer. Many-a-years ago while I was still in Salt Lake City going to school, somehow my "w" button came off on my computer. Turns out, I really do know how it came off, but it involves me blaming Adam, and him blaming me. You can probably envision where that gets us on who's fault it really was, so we just don't even go there. The good news is that miraculously, after all these years, I have kept up with the key. Thanks to a couple of YouTube videos, I put it back on and viola...we have a w. See...wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

- My Dad got the house that I wrote about before!! He has been moving his stuff in for a week or so and is officially moved in! I can't wait to help him decorate! He also bought a boat which is perfect-o because he is right on the water...aw snap! We are very excited for him, if anyone deserves it, he does! He is the hardest working man I know!

- Believe it or not, I still haven't unpacked from the baseball season. I said that I was going to unpack my stuff once I got to FL but that hasn't quite happened. The weird thing about that is I have noticed that I wear the same things over and over. I think it's because I wear the stuff that's on top, so then when I do laundry I pile those same clothes back on top and just keep wearing and washing the same clothes..so, I'm sorry to whoever sees me in public in the same outfit over and over and over. I promise, I do own more clothes, I just haven't been to the bottom of the suitcase..yet.

-With that said..I am going home in 2 weeks (1 week and 6 days..to be exact...but who's counting, right?!) With Adam hopefully going to winter ball in December I figured that I might as well go ahead and head back to Bama, rather than sit here and play the waiting game as to when Adam will leave. My Mom is flying down here the day after Thanksgiving and we will leave Saturday morning! I am excited and sad at the same time. Of course I am happy to be home for a while ( I will be there until after Christmas) but I am also sad to be away from Toasty! I can't wait though, I miss my family!

- Just recently, we found out some rather not-so-good news regarding Adams Uncle Dave. After spending a few days in the hospital dealing with what the doctors thought was some sort of virus in his bone marrow, they ran some tests and found that Uncle Dave has Leukemia. Since then he has been transported to Tampa to the fantastic Moffitt Cancer Center where he will be treated by some of the best doctors in the country. People come from all of the world to be treated by these doctors, so we are grateful that it is so close. Please keep Uncle Dave, Aunt Vickie, and the rest of the family in your prayers. Uncle Dave is such a strong man, and he has the best attitude towards fighting this cancer away quickly and getting back to his normal life!

Whelp, that's about it for now...too-da-loo!

Roll Tide!

This past weekend Adam and I drove up to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs LSU football game. I mean, 10 hours each way, that's dedication!

Our plan was to leave Thursday morning and drive from Sarasota to Atlanta to stay the night with Terry, Tanner, and Asher! It was only an 8 hour drive, but hello, traffic in ATL is horrendous...I'm talking, 8:00 PM and it's still bumper to bumper. No thank you. But, we eventually made it just in time to see Asher before he went to bed. He has gotten SO big, he is still so cute! He is crawling everywhere, and is beginning to take a few steps! I told Tanner it is a good thing that he was not mobile during the baseball season, otherwise we would have never gotten anything done! We could just lay him on his mat and he would stay! Now, not so much! We stayed up for a while and caught up with each other..we definitely miss them! We all had to wake up pretty early the next morning, we had to get back on the road and they were headed down to their hometown for the weekend! Somehow, we managed to get out of ATL with no morning traffic. Then we were on our way to T-Town!

Once we got to Tuscaloosa, we headed straight to City Cafe! We don't mess around..priorities people!! It was pretty crowded, but we got in there and got out pretty quickly! We left there and stopped by my Grandparents house because I left my glasses there the last time I was home, so I had to pick those up! It was a quick trip, but I got to see my Mimi :-)

After that we were planning on going to see Hunter during his lunch, but apparently they had to switch up the lunch schedule because of a field trip that day. But, we did get to see him for just a second (he was going to his other Grandparents house in Nashville for the weekend). Since we didn't stay for lunch we stopped by my Moms work for a few minutes!

That night Adam went to an Alabama baseball scrimmage while my Mom and I went to the movies. We saw Paranormal Activity (it was my 2nd time seeing it) and I was planning on my Mom being totally freaked out during the movie, but she must be a bajillion times more brave than I am because she wasn't too scared! I went home for a little bit while Adam finished watching the scrimmage..he had to leave early because he was too cold! When he was done we went to dinner at Benkei, a Japanese steakhouse..it's my favorite! After that we headed to my brothers house! We had to rest up for game day!

The plan for Saturday was for us to hang out on the Quad all day, then Adam had a ticket to sit in the Zone (thanks Lance and Jamie!!!) while Kristen and I were going to try and find tickets. If we couldn't find cheap tickets then we were just going to go watch the game somewhere, it didn't matter to us! It turns out, though, that a friend of Kristen's Dad had free tickets...whoot whoot!!! So throughout the day Adam and I walked around, hung out with my Dad and brother, and went to the baseball tailgate! It was a lot of fun to catch up with old friends. It seems like the LSU game is the game that everyone comes back to Tuscaloosa for so Adam got to see a bunch of old friends! About 30 minutes before kick off we parted ways, I went with Kristen and Adam headed off to the Zone! As Kristen and I were approaching our seats, we noticed that we were smack dab in the middle of every LSU fan in the stadium. We only had 4 or 5 other Alabama fans around us, but that's it..we were surrounded in purple and yellow! Ahhhhhhh! Thankfully we won, which made it even more fun for us Bama fans! There's nothing like singing Rammer Jammer and shakin' my shaker as all of the LSU fans walked past us..sad day for the Tigers :-)

After the game was over we met back up with Adam (who had a blast during the game) and we went to a few places on the strip before calling it a night! We had to leave on Sunday, but we had a great time! Securing a spot in the SEC championship game was worth the 20+ hours driving!!

Sweet Home Alabama!!!

these pictures are out of order..but look who I found!!

Asher!!!

Just some of the fans on the quad..just excuse all of the purple and yellow...

We stopped by Kristens parents house so her Mom could paint my toenails! I had to give Adam a tour of the barn..he was in Heaven!

City Cafe! I had already devoured my mashed taters...

This is a video of one of the horses at Kristen's house..Charlie..he's massive!!

What would this post be without a video of Rammer Jammer?? Adam took this after we stomped LSU...

November 4, 2009

we will never have a dog...

Back in the day I used to beg Adam to get me a dog..not a big dog..just a little Pekingese or something. Thankfully he never got me that dog.

We are living with Chris and Stephanie, who have a boxer named Layla. People, I have to pretty much beg Adam for attention these days. He is obsessed with this dog. Allow me to explain..

1. They snuggle together...look at her looking at me like, "back off lady..he's mine!!" She even has her leg thrown over him...

2. They play Xbox together...

3. She watches him play on the computer..

These are just a few of the things that go on daily at our house. So, pretty much these days I'm like a 3rd wheel to Layla and Adam..You know..I am only important when she's not around :-)

Anywho, things have been pretty good around here! Adam started working out at IPI with a group of guys every morning. He was very happy that he got the chance to work out at their facilities again this year, it took a while for them to get him in there, but I think it will be worth it! Still no word on winter ball, but I don't think that he is even talking to his agent about it yet, I think he will start really pushing for it around December 1st! I don't know about Adam, but I am getting very anxious about the world series ending..that means we are getting closer to Adam talking to different teams for next season! We have talked about the teams we like, and how great it would be if he would be able to play closer to home. We'll see!!

I have been busy brushing up on my cooking skills. This is a big deal around here. I have also been trying to get everything I need to get my massage therapy license in FL. After I graduated massage therapy school, I immediately took my Nationals test and passed. Assuming that taking a "nationals" test, I thought that I would be able to get licensed in every state..uhhh apparently that's not how it works. There are a few states where I have to take a couple classes that we don't take in school, and of course, FL is one of them. It's not a big deal, it's just a hassle to have to be doing this!

The massage therapy school that I went to in Utah is owned by a big company called Steiner, and they have several schools located all over the country. It just so happens that there is one right down the road from us so this past weekend we went to their weekend clinic. It's $25 for a one hour massage by a student that is going through school..so they are still in the process of learning, but it gives them great hands on experience! It wasn't too long ago that I was doing clinics, so it was weird being the client this time! It was also weird being back in a building that was set up just like my school in SLC was, it brought back good memories! We both got a massage, for a total of $50, you can't beat that! They also give facials, so I am sensing another Saturday being spent getting pampered soon!

Adam and I are leaving on Thursday to head up to Alabama! We are stopping in Atlanta though to visit with Terry, Tanner, and Asher..I am so excited! I am not sure yet if we will spend the night with them or not, but if we do we will just get up early on Friday morning and head to Tuscaloosa! I think we are heading straight to City Cafe though! I can't wait! Saturday we will be out on the quad tailgating! We are both very excited!!! I just wish the drive wasn't so long!

Oh goodness, I forgot to post about this..

You know, we didn't have any plans for Halloween this year. But we ended up going with Chris and Steph to a local haunted house then to see the movie Paranormal Activity.

Oh-my-sweetbabyJesus..that was the scariest movie I have ever seen. I literally screamed out loud in the theater, more than once. It's not scary like, bloody and gory, but it's about a demon that follows this girl..I can't even explain to you how freaky it is!! Just google it and look at a movie trailer.

Ok, well that's about it for now!! Later gators!
