Bad Blogger!

You know, once you go a long time without blogging, it is really hard to get back into the groove! Or at least, that's my excuse! I am happy to report, though, that things have been re-he he he-alllly (Ace Ventura, anyone? No? Mmkay.) busy in our neck of the woods!

Adam has been accepted back into the University of Alabama and has been given the "Student Assistant Baseball Coaching" job for Bama! Or at least I think that's the correct title :) It's a great opportunity for Adam to be involved with the Alabama baseball team while he finishes his degree, and hopefully along the way keep moving up!  Adam spent all of this past week on campus talking to advisors/counselors and coaches so he can get his classes set up and get the minor details worked out. I'm about 76% sure that his official "major" is Accounting, with a concentration thingy in Finance, and then he is minoring in Economics.  But there is a 24% chance that that's totally wrong and I have no clue what I am talking about.  Make whatever you want of it but I do know that I am awesomely excited about going to Office Depot and picking out a few school supplies for him.  It's kind of sad how much I love picking out new pens and pencils...anyone else get excited about new school supplies? I swear, in high school, I would stay up really late the night before the first day of school and organize my different binders for each class like, a bagillion times. Now that I type all of this out, I am realizing how big of a weirdo I am.  I'm going to stop now.

Also, we've been looking at places to live! Whoooo de whoooo! We had pretty much decided that we were definitely going to live on campus.  I ruled out living in Taylorville like, immediately.  Because you know what's more fun than sitting in 69 South traffic twice a day.  Oh umm, a lot of things, like for instance: Poking your eyeballs with a pin point needle then pouring salt water on them.  But that's just my opinion.  Traffic is the shizz there, so Taylorville was out. We drove around on campus, found a few places that we wanted to look at, and I called and made the appointments for the next day.  After discussing what we could afford, we finally decided on a super nice townhouse located near the football field and near a Publix.  We will hopefully move in next week!

This weekend we are in Montgomery for a friends wedding! It's a girl that I met through baseball and over the past few years we've become great friends, I can't wait to see how beautimous she looks tomorrow! We had a girls dinner tonight at a place called La Jolla...my inner Fatty McFatterson came out and took over the menu which is just spectacular.  I took a bunch of pictures but will have to post them later when I can find the little cord thingy-ma-jig. I am also (in a seperate post that will be up tomorrow) going to put up a picture of Hunter and Taelor.  We had their pictures made last week and they all turned out sooo good! Here's a little preview.

pool time!

On Tuesday Adam left for Mississippi to go to a friends bachelor party.  I figured this would be a good time to spend some QT with my two favorite nuggets! Robby got off work early so we took the kiddos swimming! We had to run and get Taelor some "doggles" because Hunter needed his. Hunter has been taking swimming lessons so he showed off his new skills.  There was a storm coming, but luckily we had plenty of time to swim for a bit, and even go down the slide and off the diving board a few times.  Robby took Taelor down the slide..she loved it..we caught it on video but I will have to post it another day.I thought I'd be the super crazy aunt that went down the slide head first...and I may or may not have lost my bathing suit...but that's neither here nor there.  The point is..we swam, we slid, we ate, Taelor peed in the grass because she refused to go inside to the toilet, and we left..then the tsunami came.

Tonight I am taking Hunter and Taelor to have professional pictures taken! One of Hunter's Mom's friends (got that?) is starting a photography business and wants to get in some practice. Taelor is wearing a dress that I wore when I was her age..it's a little watermelon dress and it's adorbs! We are supposed to be getting the pics on a CD so I will post some of them! HOLLER!

Adam is in Mississippi right now, coming home this afternoon though.  We have a wedding this weekend in Double Springs and we are staying at my Dad's house!  We are planning on staying there until Monday so we will be spending Father's Day with my Daddy-O! I'm excited! I see a lot of boat riding and shopping in my future!

Good news is that Adam has been approved to go back to the University of Alabama to finish his degree! Whooo de whooo! The baseball team doesn't have any openings for coaching right now, but maybe by the time he finished his degree something would come up. Adam still wants to send his resume out to a few other schools to see if a coaching jobs comes up, but staying here for school is a strong possibility.  We shall see!

isn't her bathing suit presh? It was mine when I was a wee little laddy!

blogging to distract myself from eating a plethora of fudgesicles

This time next week Adam and I will be in T-town! I'm sure we will be headed straight to Dreamland Taco Casa, because that's all that I can think about at this moment. That, and Fudgesicles. For realz, you know how most people say they hope when they pass it's in their sleep? I'd rather go to Jesus while eating a Fudgesicle. That's how much I love them. Jesus & Fudgesicles, I'm golden.

The past few days have been pretty blah. Adam's parents went to Michigan for the week which means Adam and I are not getting a wonderful home cooked meal for dinner every night! His Mom is a great cook, so you can only imagine how ecstatic Adam was to have hot dogs & mac-n-cheese for dinner the other night.  I had Ramen.  Classic "newlywed" food. Weird thing is, I actually really love Ramen! I guess we better get used to that since Adam is going to be a college student soon and I will have to be the bread winner. Can't wait! **enter sarcasm here**

This past week I have been starting the process of getting my 48 hours of Continuing Education classes for my National Certification for Massage Therapy.  I have to get the 48 hours every four years so I have until next December to get them done.  I decided now is the best time to do it since we have nothing to do at the moment. I took a 6 hour course last week and have another one coming in the mail this week.  It keeps me busy and I will have gotten it out of the way sooner than I need to.

Adam has been in contact with some of the UA baseball coaches.  It's pretty hard to catch them at a decent time because the baseball team is playing in the regionals...or whatever.  All I know is Mitch Gaspard said he will be talking to him soon, so it's just another waiting game! Adam also has a friend who just took an assistant coaching job at UAH who is talking to the head coach about Adam.  We are definitely praying hard, crossing our fingers & toes!

Alright well I had all of these great things to write about earlier..but suddenly can't remember any of them.  Must mean I need a Fudgesicle. I'll try again tomorrow.

Memorial Day..

Yes, I do realize that this is a little bit late, but I just now put the pictures on my computer and remembered that I never blogged about what we did on Memorial Day! We went to the early service at church then met up with friends & loaded up on a boat! I'm not exactly sure where went but we pulled up to a place where people parked their boats and partied on the beach! It was a lot of fun, definitely saw some interesting things.  Like, women who clearly don't know what size bikini they wear and what age is appropriate to stop wearing a bikini all together. Also saw a huge brawl break out on a big house boat, with police just watching the whole thing go down because they didn't want to have to walk through the knee deep water and get wet to break it up..but they did. Eventually.  They actually ended up tasing a guy.  Good times.  But the best part of the day was when an old drunk guy walked up to me, very slowly and creepily (if that's even a word), stared me down, then poked my belly button.  If I'm lyin' I'm dyin'.  He poked my belly button, then asked how I was doing.  Yeah, I have no other words.

It was a fun day, and it's a good thing Adam and I loaded up on the 50 SPF sunscreen because we were out there for 8 hours! Talk about salty skin and hair! I've never wanted to shower so badly in my life. I love the beach, but I hate the salt water! It was a great way to celebrate all of then men and women who serve or have previously served our country! Whooo deee whoooo!

Toasty and I escaping from all of the craziness on the beach!

On our way back to the house..think we need any more people on the boat?
