dear mother nature, please get your act together ASAP

I don't know about you, but frankly, I am tired of Mother Nature and her bi-polar nonsense as of late.  One day it's in the 50's then the next day it's in the high 70's..then a few hours later it's storming and cold.  Uhhh, helllllur, some of us have skin that needs some color on it! I'd 'preciate some consistancy in the weather, preferably consistant sun!

Life in Alabama is hectic, yet uneventful at the same time.  It seems like I am constantly going somewhere or doing something, but then I sit down and try to blog and I can't even think of anything worthy to blog about.  The last few days have consisted of baseball, Yogurt Mountain, people watching in Barnes & Noble, and a near death experience from an airhorn. Ahem, I know you're just overcome with jealousy of my life right now.

Hunter had his first "practice game" for baseball on Tuesdee Tuesday.  Robby called and said that he would be playing first base & to start practicing! Rah Rah and I took Hunt to Academy so Rah Rah could get him some new cleats, pants, and socks.  He grows so fast that he can't wear anything from last year.  He did great at his game, got a hit every time he went up to bat!  Saturday is the big Jamboree, which means EveryoneAndTheirMother will be at the ballpark which is just dandy because there's just something about a ballpark full of "Taylorville Mothers" that make me want to pluck out my own eyeballs, roll them around in sand, then insert them back into their socket...I'm just sayin'. ANYWAYS..now that that's taken care of...

Yesterday I took Hunter for a fattening little treat.  We went to Yogurt Mountain.  It's like Heaven, but better.  They have 16 (yes, I counted) different flavors of yogurt & every topping known to man kind.  Seriously there are like, forty eleventy different toppings.  Hunt got Cake Batter yogurt with gummy bears, sprinkles, graham cracker crust, strawberries, and chocolote syrup.  FATTY McFATTERSON! We have a place like that in Salt Lake City, called Yogurt Stop, and I'm not going to lie, I like Yogurt Stop way better.  Probably because I feel like Yogurt Mountain is a big ol' copy cat wannabe which wouldn't even be possible because SLC and TTown are nowhere near each other and I am pretty sure they weren't copy catting at all but I am just biased because Yougurt Stop is way cooler since the have the Mini Nilla Wafers and Yogurt Mountain only has the huge fat ones which means I spend all of my time crushing Nilla Wafers.

But my opinion doesn't matter does it?

Didn't think so.

I have been at Barnes & Noble a lot, mainly because I love to people watch.  B&N is my 2nd favorite place to do that at.  My #1 fave place is the airport (except for the airport in Nashville..BORING!).  OH OH OH OH but what's even better is watching other people that are people watching.  Try it, you'll love me for letting you in on that little tidbit.  Earlier there was a guy with 47 chins sitting next to me, and he fell asleep which is cool, but then he started snoring really loud which then turned all of the attention to him, which made it awkward because I felt like everyone was staring at me, which is also cool because I'm fun to stare at. ::cheeeeeeeese::

Oh, and the near death experience from an airhorn..yeah...let me just tell ya a little somethin' somethin'.  There should be a law against giving a 14 year old boy an airhorn.  That's all.

Well, that's all I have for you today folks.  WHOA WHOA WHOA, no it's not.  News Flash, Adam is coming on Monday! Whoooo de whooo!..ok, toodles!

baseball update..as of right now :)

Let me fill you in on the baseball happenins' as of right now.  On April 9th Adam and I will be headed to Long Island, NY! It's not what we necessarily want but it's what we're going to have to take right now.  It's one of the Independent League teams in the Atlantic League that he's been in talks with for a while.  He pretty much had free range of which team he wanted to play for in the league, so when we narrowed it down he chose Long Island..and their mascot, you ask? Ok, are you ready for this?! Oh, you thought the Bee's was bad...The Long Island Ducks.  I have no words.  The Ducks.

Anywho, we are still hoping that he will get picked up by a regular team t some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.  This just isn't the year to be a free agent I guess! We are just greatful that he has this contract becauase there are still several great players that can't find a team at all.  We just had one of our friends go over to Switzerland where he will be a player and a coach..how crazy will that be!?  Another one of our good friends just went to Italy..that would be fun! We were working on going to Italy, and Adam did talk to a bunch of Managers over there, but they already had their roster set, so maybe next off season we will start earlier on that. Um, hellur, living in Italy for 6 months?! Then my hopes and dreams of Brad and Angelina adopting me may finally come true... HOLLER!

We have people working on our living situation while we are there.  Considering we know nothing about New York, it's hard for us to get online and look at living arrangements.  For all we know we could find a really nice apartment but it'd be in the ghetto.  I'm no genius, but I am pretty sure New York is the most opposite as it gets from Salt Lake City UTAH!  Seriously, think about it. Mormons to Mobsters. Oh the life of a baseball player!

I know it will be a fun adventure, it's something new that neither of us has done yet, and that's exciting.  But lets get real peeps...how long do you think this Southern girl is going to be able to handle those "New Yowkahs"? Oh sweetbabyJesus, the accents. OH THE ACCENTS will kill me if the mobsters don't. OH OH OH, and what about the Mafia? Does that really exist and should I be worried about it? I know nothing about NY except that there has been something about a mafia and people are really mean there so I better not stop and ask for directions if I'm lost because I've listened to the NYPD on my police scanner and there are some crazy people in NY and I'm just a poor innocent redneck and mean mafia people might steal me and OH MY GOD I WANT TO GO BACK TO UTAH!!!!!

Please excuse me while I go give Mike Soscia a call and beg him to take Adam back.....

sweet home Alabama!

Friday afternoon, I finally arrived in Alabama! I flew into Huntsville instead of Birmingham so I could spend a few days with my Dad.  He picked me up from the airport, then we had to get to the doctors office for his radiation treatment.  When we got there he gave me a little tour of the place, and it's really nice..it's huge!  The sweet nurses/techs even let me go in to see how they set my Dad up for the radiation..it's pretty interesting! That didn't take too long, we ran a few errands then headed out into the country to the house.  We woke up the next morning and did a little fishing! My Dad lives on the Tennessee River, so you literally walk out his back door & BAM..there's the water! He's got a nice big boat, but it's still covered up for the winter, so we went in his neighbors little boat and paddled out into the water! We caught about 30 fish total, it was a lot of fun!

We got a few wedding things taken care of while I was there, too! We got the invitations & even went on a fun shopping spree for all of my dresses (for showers & the rehearsal), and I got some purtty shoes! Thanks again Dad!

I came to Tuscaloosa Monday afternoon after going to visit with Kristen in Birmingham.  We went to Davids Bridal so she could get fitted for her MOH dress, but while we were there I ended up completely changing the dress that all of the girls are going to wear! I like it much better than the ones I had picked out before, and I think the girls will appreciate the fabric on the new one compared to the old one..ladies, you're welcome...no Spanx necessary for the new dress :)

Today was a pretty busy day for me, too! I ate lunch at my Grandparents house with my cousin Jordan, went to see my Mom at work, then headed over to see Page for a little bit!  While eating at MiMi & Pop's house Jordan informed me about the gym he goes to having an ab class tonight.  Well, we all know I could use a good ab workout so I went by the gym to see if they could give me a 1 month membership, and they did! I met him at the gym for the class and it whooped my boootay!

Anywho, tomorrow I will be going to take some clothes to Goodwill then church with Mimi & Pops...oddly enough, I have yet to go to Taco Casa..I think I will wait until Rah Rah gets here on Friday..she's coming home from Germany for a few weeks! Whoot Whoot!

Whelp, that's all I've got for ya today folks..holler back youngin' ooooh ooooh!

this isn't the most flattering picture I've ever taken, but it's not that often I catch a fish..so please excuse the long Johns..it was a wee bit chilly,,,

my Dads backyard!..well I guess it isn't technically a "yard"..but you catch my drift.

the little cove that my Dad lives on is a fishing hot spot, so we had to wait until that guy left so we could float out there and catch some fish!

My Dad!

one of the many fish we caught that day!

mani/pedi FAIL

What I am about to say type is a true story that took place during my mani/pedi at a little Asian place (you know, the kind that's always located next to the grocery store that has the word "NAILS" in bright red/neon letter?!?!)...this can not be made up...

Non-English Speaking Nail Woman: (while doing my nails) "Soooo, how meeny cats??"

Me (totally confused but frownsmile and go on with it): "ohhh, well, A LOT! You see, we have some that live in the barn, then we have a crazy deaf white one, a mean fluffy orange one..so you know, they roam around everywhere near the house! We live out in the country so we can just put the stray ones barn!"

Non-English Speaking Nail Woman: "..............{crickets chirpping}....................."

At this point, I'm all "What. The. Hell, she asked about my cats, I told her about my cats."..then we share an awkward stare that lasted too long for comfort.

Non-English Speaking Nail Woman:.."Nooooo, how meeny CARATS???" and points at my ring finger.

MY RING, PEOPLE, MY RING!!!!!

FAIL!!!!!!

i'm alive! i'm alive!

I know some of you probably thought I fell off the face of the earth...well, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I am still here! We've been pretty busy 'round here lately.  So busy, in fact, that I haven't even had time to shower sit down to put all of my thoughts together to blog! Phew! Seriously though, between my birthday celebration and the season finale of The Bachelor getting ready to go home, life has been cray-zay!  Lets recap, shall we?!

Last Friday night Adam and I went down to Port Charlotte to have dinner with our T-Town friends, Lance, Jamie, and LJ Cormier.  Lance pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays and their spring training is near by so we planned a little get together so we could visitate. We ate pizza while we all chatted, then we had some lovely entertainment from LJ. He showed us his baseball skills and I must say, we were impressed!

Saturday was...dun dundundunnnnn....my birthday! I got lots of phone calls & text messages from people wishing me a Happy Birthday :)  Adams gift to me was a day of getting pampered...I don't know who was happier, me or him.  I bet he was glad my birthday finally rolled around so I would finally shut up about how bad I wanted to get my hair and toes done!  For about the past year, I've been doing my own hair.  Nothing special about it, just going to Sally's and getting hair dye, developer, and the occasional "plum/burgundy" streaks.  It was about time I finally go to a salon and get someone else to do it for me.  Enter: Travis.  I went to a salon here that has those stupid "levels" of hair-stylist-people-thingies.  Like, you could go to a level 1 for the cheapest price, but that person just got out of school.  Level 2 is someone who has been doing hair for a few months, level 3 maybe a year or so..blah blah blah.  I wanted to best though, so I went to Travis who is the salon owner and the color specialist.  Cha ching!  Since he clearly knew what he was doing, I told him to do whatever he wanted..I'm not opposed to adding some funky colors to my hair! I wanted some caramel for sure, but if he got a wild hair he could throw in some red or purple.  And when say purple, I mean like a dark plum.  I had a bunch of crazy old people eyes look my way when explaining his freedom..I even had an older woman ask me if "I was one of those gothic people that put purple in their hair?!" Ummm, I think not, but thank you for your opinion lady-with-the-4-inch-thick-glasses-who-has-had-way-too-many-perms-in-your-lifetime-because-your-hair-looks-like-a-fried-poodle. Unfortunately, her appointment was over by the time Travis finished my hair, because what she doesn't know is that my hair looks exponentionally awesome-er than hers and her next appointment should be with Travis so she can have amazing "gothic hair" like mine! And for the record, I don't have "gothic hair" for realz, just some simple caramel highlights with a few red highlights that you can only see at the right angle...totally normal..but BOOM! In your face POODLE BRAINS!

Anywho, after my hair appointment I had every intention of going to get a mani/pedi, but I didn't have enough time.  We had plans to meet Adams Uncle Bob down in Venice, he rode down with his motorcycle group and they were eating lunch on the river for a little bit.  Uncle Bob lives on the other coast and wasn't there the other weekend when we made out trip over there!  We made it in time to hang out with him for a little bit, but then it was time to head over to Adams parents house for my birthday party :o)  There were butt loads of birthday cards & red velvet cupcakes involved..it was stupendous!

Thanks to everyone who made my 17th 24th birthday so special!
